My New Year Resolution I usually hate these kind of resolutions everybody suddenly has in the end of the year. I always thought that you don´t need a year to end so you can start to change your life or to start to have new […]
We are going through life with the constant need to improve ourselves, reaching our goals and archieving more and more. Without even looking at all the things we already accomplished during the last months or year. We need to be proud of us and of all the challenges we overcame. 2017 was an amazing year, but at the same time a year with lots of lessons to be learnt. I summarized the 10 most important life lessons for me this year.
1. Don’t take yourself so seriously. Live your life no matter what everyone else says. You need to be happy that is the most important.
2. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. The time you spent hating and being annoyed you could rather spent in improving yourself and reaching your goals.
3. No one is in charge of your happiness, except you ! Whenever you feel sad or bitter don’t search for the reason by someone else.
4. Get outside everyday. Whenever you feel down or just without power you have to forced yourself to step out of the house. Your day automatically will get better. Miracles and great encounters are waiting everywhere.
5. Take a deep breath. Whenever you have to take big decisions, are stressed or nervous or just annoyed, take a deep breath. You will feel better immediately.
6. What other people think of you shouldn’t matter to you. Stop to care about what other people might think about you. Start to life.
7. If you really want something you most probably get it if you fight for it. Ok, this one isn’t working everytime, but at least its worth a try to fight as hard as possible.
8. Laugh for no reason. Even though there is nothing to laugh about right now, just try it. Sit down and start to laugh. You will feel better. Believe me.
9. Focus about the things that make you happy. If you are not happy with what you are doing. Then stop.
10. You are not perfect. Accept it. Don’t try to fight it.
Another life lesson I learned is to use travelling as a therapy whenever I feel down. Check out my blogpost here.
There are ups and downs in live. I bet each of you experienced times in life when you were happier, funnier or just mentally healthier. Or times in life, when you weren’t that active, weren´t that balanced or when your body and your soul just […]
You know that feeling when everything is just perfect. This fulfilling feeling of complete uselessness. While you are lying at the beach, letting the sun burn down on your skin, half asleep half befuddled from all the heat. When you don’t even know whereto with […]
Dear Paris, I am in love with you, your magical illusion, your alluring charm, you have my heart forever. And I will come back I promise you that.
We stayed in Paris, le Marais, for only one week. But that was enough to experience and life the Parisian charm so many people talk about.
In this Blogpost I will tell you what we were up to, where we stayed and what we were doing. You will find out how and where to experience the Parisian Charm and where the (what I identified) hidden and secret spots are where you have to be.
Le Marais the older part of Paris
We stayed in a small petit boutique Hotel at Rue Saint-Antoine, directly infront of the Place de la Bastille in le Marais. I immediately fell in love with that district of Paris, all the small cafes and local restaurants, the remarkable art galleries and the extraordinary couture. If you wanna dive into the French and Parisian Culture, then you definitely have to stay or at least visit Le Marais. That district is the historic area of Paris, here you will find a lot of medieval buildings and outstanding houses of architectural importance. We always had breakfast at one of the small intimate coffee houses. The alleys, gathered with cobblestones, are bringing you to pure madness, when you are trying to find your way in this labyrinth of small pathways and streets, wandering through pre-revolutionary Paris.
Cafe La Favorite – 4 Rue de Rivoli, Le Marais
Where we ate in Le Marais, Paris
I am not a vegan, but wherever I see vegan restaurants I try to support that eating culture. I think it is always good to have the ethical and environmental part in mind. In Le Marais we came across two entirely vegan restaurants, and the food was just great. So I would definitely recommend these for you if you are vegan or you just wanna try vegan food.
We had Hanks Vegan Burger and Hanks Vegan Pizza, its kind of a small restaurant chain in Paris, with vegan pizza and burger. And it tasted just amazing.
The Parisian Charm
Paris has that charm, that charm nobody can resist. Especially me, I fell for Paris.
What all should you see in Paris
Definitely a must see for all the Arts lovers. Its actually huge. Like when I am saying huge – I mean HUGE. It is no surprise that you won’t even see all the magnificent pieces of art even though you are spending a whole day there (like we did), it is the largest Art Museum in the World. Although I have to warn you, if you are visiting the Louvre with the aim to get a good look at the famous Mona Lisa, I have to disappoint you. The Mona Lisa is placed in the middle of a room with a fence all around her. Even though the room was one of the biggest in the Louvre you won’t get near her more then 20 metres because of the mass of people screaming and squeezing in front of that painting. I am an arts lover, and for me if was one of the aims to see the magnificent painting in real life, but even I couldn’t stand it more then 10 seconds there and couldn’t get nearer than 15 meters.
Free entrance at the Musée Louvre?
Nevertheless, the Louvre has so much more outstanding artworks. The museum is well organised, huge locker facilities and good but expensive restaurants. You don’t have to wait for anything that long. And the best is, for all european citizens under the age of 26 years, the entrance is free. So enjoy this amazing and magical hotchpotch of art.
Musée du Louvre – a must see for all the Art Lovers
Arc de Triomphe, Champs Élysées and Eiffel Tower
I think we have been at the Eiffel Tower three times during our short visit in Paris. Even though the Eiffel Tower is one of the most iconic tourist places, it still is simply impressive – I can’t help it. I am scared of height, nevertheless I really wanted to climb up the Eiffel Tower, I was too scared to use the elevator. So we used the stairs, 669 stairs, to the second floor. But it was worth it, from up there you have the most amazing view. Truly impressive.
When you want to see what other european cities I visited then check out my blogpost about Stockholm.
Stockholm There are these moments in life, which give you so much joy and so much love. These moments will fill your heart with lots of lots of positive energy. I had these moments in Stockholm, Sweden. Even though it was just freezing cold, […]
